It also rides on new available 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels and adds a couple of new two-tone paint combinations to the roster: Clear White and Surf Blue, each with a black roof. Outside, the 2023 Soul wears a revised grille with redesigned foglights as well as new daytime running lamps and turn signals. (For 2022, the Soul lost its manual transmission.) Exterior Updates It remains exclusively front-wheel drive, and the sole transmission is a continuously variable automatic. X-Line and Turbo trims have been discontinued along with the 201-hp, turbo 1.6-liter four-cylinder. The revised Soul will be available in LX, S, EX, GT-Line trims and with only one engine for 2023: the base 147-horsepower, 2.0-liter inline-four-cylinder.
